This is the best image I was able to coax out of PanoTools, even after setting a lot of manual points to match the straight lines. Not the application's fault, but the photographer's, for giving the app a flawed set of images with which to work. Notice the mismatches where lines are skewed. This wouldn't have happened with the camera rotating around the entrance pupil with a panorama head. Instead, it rotated around the tripod socket that caused the lens to see an object relationship one way on the right side of the frame, and another way when the pan put those same objects in the center or on the left side of the frame. |
